Turnpike Marketing Manager, Department of Transportation

The Manager of Marketing for NCTA manages and directs the day-to-day operations and functions of the North Carolina Turnpike Authority (NCTA) marketing efforts consisting of creative services, advertising, branding, interactive marketing and promotions. The Marketing Manager will work as a member of the Communications Office, working closely with all members of the NC Turnpike Authority, as well as primary marketing consultants to develop a marketing plan for NC's first toll road. Marketing Manager will oversee and manage the contract of the outside PR/Marketing Firm and will be responsible for ensuring the Firm meets all objectives while following NC policies and procedures and help launch the state's first toll road project. Excellent strategic leadership skills required. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong creativity and problem solving skills required. Highly organized and strong administrative and analytical skills required. Ability to handle multiple projects, tasks and priorities. Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills. Skillful in managing departmental budgets and demonstrating financial accountability. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Coordinator for Research and Outreach, Water Resources Research Institute

This position requires a master's degree in an environmental or water-related discipline, with a minimum of three years experience in either water or other natural resource management, land-use planning, or environmental education/communications. Successful candidate must possess excellent communication, organization, and people skills and be highly computer and web literate, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Experiences in scientific research, higher education administration, web use/development, event planning, or public communications are desirable. This highly motivated professional will coordinate WRRI's research processes, outreach activities, and communications efforts.
