NCAGIO Logo Design Competition Rules

Designers and visual communication members: This year we want to rebrand NCAGIO. The organization is ready for a new logo, typeface, and style guide. We are asking YOU to enter your creative ideas as an entry in the 2021 Excellence in Communication Awards! 

Color
  • Logo may include any colors, but may not include more than three colors

  • Logo color must share hue values in CMYK, RGB and Hexadecimal ranges

  • Logo must be reproducible in black and white

  • Submissions must avoid gradients and half-tones

 
File Format
  • The logo must be easy to use, resize, and manipulate for all reproduction purposes. It should be visually appealing on both small (e.g., 16px X 16px) and large format

  • Submissions must not be of a photograph, complex illustration, or detailed rendering

  • Submissions must work as a flat image, and as one-color

 
Type 
  • The logo must contain the following wording: North Carolina Association of Government Information Officers, and must not contain any other text

  • Submissions may include a variation of acronyms

 
Entry
  • Designers should submit no more than two (2) variants of the logo – JPG and EPS. JPGs in a square of 1000 pixels of the logo are requested so that entries can be posted to the NCAGIO website and added to digital properties without the need for conversion.

  • Attachment size limit is 10Mb. If your submission exceeds this size, even after compression, please send the images individually and note clearly in your emails that you are doing so.

  • Logo must be the original work of the submitter.

Judging

A committee of independent judges will evaluate and select the winning entry. Entries will be judged on their visual appeal, adherence to the concept prompting the contest, quality of design, and ease of reproduction for the purposes stated above. The decision will be final.

 
Copyright 

NCAGIO will acquire ownership of the winning logo by assignment of copyright, and the winning designer will disclaim any trademarks and without limitation, all other rights related to the design. By submitting a logo for entry in the competition, the designer acknowledges that he/she is the person that created the logo and is the rightful owner. The designer also certifies that the logo does not infringe upon the rights of any third party and that it does not violate any copyright.
